Dodital is the birth place of "Lord Ganesha" and is said to have witnessed the beheading of the deity by "Lord Shiva". Surrounded by lush greenery with crystal clear water makes this place as an ultimate destination for the travelers and sightseers. At an elevation of 3307 meters above mean sea level, in the north of Uttarakashi is a precise trekking destination and also holds potential for other adventure sports. There are few treks in India that can qualify as a true winter trek. The Dodital is one of them. The snowy scenery is outstanding and camp sites are easily reachable.

Day Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Rishikesh - Sangamchatti
  • :-
    Arrival at Rishikesh and then transfer to Sangamchatti via Uttarkashi. The drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal Mountains along with the holy Ganges. Overnight stay at guest house/tent.
  • Day 2
    Sangamchatti – Agoda (2250 mts/7380 ft) – Manjhi (16 kms/6-7 hrs)

    In the morning after breakfast trek to Manjhi via Agoda Village. Upon arrival at Manjhi set out camp for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
  • Day 3
    Manjhi – Dodital (3307 10847 ft) (6 Kms/ 3 – 4 hrs)

    A gradual zigzag trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs brings you the mysterious Dodital. Dinner and overnight stay in the tent.
  • Day 4
    Dodital (3307 mts/10847 ft)

    Day free to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Lake and surrounding dense forest. The scenic beauty of Dodital can compel any nature lover to camp here for days together, the lake, the surrounding pine forest, the towering Darwa Bugyal on one side and the valley on the other is serene and enticing. The parikrama around the lake is of 1.5 kms. A few streams coming from Darwa Bugyal feed the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
  • Day 5
    Dodital – Agoda (2250 mts/7380 ft) (17 kms/4-5 hrs)

    After breakfast we will trek down till Agoda. It is a 17 Kms Trek. Overnight in camps at Agoda.
  • Day 6
    Agoda – Rishikesh (6 kms trek + 140 kms Drive)

    Morning after breakfast trek down to Sangamchatti and from here drive down to Rishikesh. On arrival at Haridwar transfer to Railway station to catch night train for Delhi.

Cost Include

• 2 guides for the group of maximum 14 trekkers so 1 guide for 7 group members. This will ensure high safety and more information and personal attention which are necessary to appreciate a trek. All our guides are professionally trained and have many years of relevant experience in guiding treks.
• Accommodation (hotel or Guest house or home stay or camping).
• Good quality camping arrangements.
we believe that roughing it out necessarily doesn’t mean sleeping in smelly sleeping bags, compromising on safety by using low quality equipment and having unappetizing meals. We focus on your safety, basic comforts and the environment while camping. Keeping this is mind, the following equipment is provided on the trek.
• 3/4 season imported alpine tents ,sleeping bag , mattresses , Hot water bottles in the night (during the trek), Camping stools, Mess Tent, Toilet tents.
• All meals starting from dinner on Day 1 till breakfast on last day. A lot of emphasis is given to nutritional needs and a menu of vegetarian dishes is prepared accordingly. Tea/coffee will be served throughout.
• Porter/mule charges for carrying camping equipment & rations.
• Forest entry charges, permits & camping fee (if any).
• First aid kit (our guides are certified in handling first aid situations).
