About BEDNI BUGYAL TREK

Haridwar & Rishikesh : The two holy towns of the Hindu's-centers of 'Vedic' learning and Yoga & Meditation.
Bedni Bugyal is a Himalayan Alpine meadow, situated at an elevation of 3,354 metres (11,004 ft) in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. Bedni Bugyal falls on the way to Roopkund near Wan village. Trisul and Nanda Ghunti are clearly visible from here. This lush green meadow is adorned with blooms in a wide range of varieties. There is a small lake named Vaitarani (Bedni Kund), situated amidst the meadow. The rich flora of the area includes 'Brahm Kamal' or Sauseurea Obyallata.
Bedni Bugyal : Considered amongst the finest high altitude grasslands in the Garhwal mountains.

Day Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Delhi - Haridwar - Rishikesh

    Morning transfer to railway station and onwards by AC train to Haridwar at 06:50 hrs.
  • :-
    rrival at Haridwar by 11:25 hrs. On arrival meet our guide and transfer to Rishikesh by road .
  • :-
    Check into hotel. In the evening visit the Ganga Ghat for Aarti ceremony held daily on the banks of the holy river Ganges. Back to hotel for overnight stay.
  • Day 2
    Rishikesh - Karnprayag - Mundoli

    In the morning after breakfast drive to Mundoli (240 km/8-9 hrs) via the sacred river confluences at Devprayag,

    Rudraprayag and Karnprayag. Arrival at Mundoli (1750 mts) by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
  • Day 3
    Mundoli - Wan - Bedni Bugyal (3350 mts/11000 ft)

    In the morning drive 10 kms to Wan (2439 mts)which is the road head for the trek.

    The leisurely trek covers 11 km (5-6 hrs) to reach Bedni Bugyal, probably one of the best camping sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

    Bedni Bugyal is a charming green meadow adorned with flowers in a spell binding varieties, in full bloom. There is a small lake situated in the midst of the meadow, where Tarpans are offered by the devotees.

    Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay their obeisance, during their halt at Bedni Bugyal.
  • Day 4
    Bedni - Ali Bugyal - Bedni (10 kms/4 hrs)

    Today we will trek up to another picturesque Bugyal - The Ali Bugyal(3300 mts) after ascending a steep forest of rhododendron and moss-shrouded oak trees.

    On climbing further, the topography changes – with the appearance of conifers like Deodar, Pine and Spruce.

    Hugging the rim of the famed Bugyal. The arrival at the Bugyal at the 3300 metre marks the disappearance of all trees, and Lo and behold – the vast expanse of the Ali Bugyal lies in front of the visitor to feast your eyes!

    After exploring the area trek back to Bedni for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 5
    Bedni Bugyal - Wan (2436 mts/8000 ft)

    Take an about turn towards Wan- the largest village in Chamoli District.
  • :-
    Thankfully, this time the trek downhill takes a mere 3-4 hrs.

    Dinner and overnight in tents at Wan
  • Day 6
    Wan - Rishikesh (2200 mts /7200 ft)

    Post breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. Lunch enroute. Arrival at Rishikesh by evening.

    Upon arrival check into hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 7
    Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi
  • :-
    Post breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. Lunch enroute.

Cost Include


• 2 guides for the group of maximum 14 trekkers so 1 guide for 7 group members. This will ensure high safety and more information and personal attention which are necessary to appreciate a trek. All our guides are professionally trained and have many years of relevant experience in guiding treks.

• Good quality camping arrangements.
we believe that roughing it out necessarily doesn’t mean sleeping in smelly sleeping bags, compromising on safety by using low quality equipment and having unappetizing meals. We focus on your safety, basic comforts and the environment while camping. Keeping this is mind, the following equipment is provided on the trek.
• 3/4 season imported alpine tents ,sleeping bag , mattresses , Hot water bottles in the night (during the trek), Camping stools, Mess Tent, Toilet tents.
• All meals starting from dinner on Day 1 till breakfast on last day. A lot of emphasis is given to nutritional needs and a menu of vegetarian dishes is prepared accordingly. Tea/coffee will be served throughout.
• Porter/mule charges for carrying camping equipment & rations.
• Forest entry charges, permits & camping fee (if any).
• First aid kit (our guides are certified in handling first aid situations).
